Toddler/Junior Program

Smart Mandarin Kids Toddler/Junior Program provides the sense of security; nurturance and loving care that children need to thrive during this stage of intense learning. Since toddlers are committed to achieving independence, the directress provides responsive individual attention as your child deals with positive experiences as well as frustrations. The program takes advantage of the rapid growth of fine and gross motor skills at this stage of development.

The Toddler/Junior Programs focus on a few development areas namely: sensory, self-help skills, fine motor skills, social and emotional growth.

Smart Mandarin Kids Toddler/Junior Program also implements character first. Character is important for people of any age. Qualities such as creativity, patience and generosity benefit the lives of both children and adults. These programs designed to help your child develop character qualities that bring success in their areas of life. Forty nine key character qualities are defined applied and illustrated. Our programs can help develop character and have fun doing it!

The school has been carefully designed and equipped with furnishing and creative playthings to handle needs of the children and the classroom are also planned to meet the needs of children and organized for their convenience. Each day activities provide balance quiet and active oriented activities. Some activities take place in groups, while others are individuals.

Toddler Curriculum

There are six areas of focus:
* Mandarin Language Conversational Development
* Sensorial Awareness
* Practical Life Activities
* Character First
* Introduction to Numerals & Quantities
* Art, Music and Movement

In Mandarin Language Conversational Development, the children will learn how to communicate greetings, telephone conversation, basic daily life conversation etc. Smart Mandarin Kids create an environment for the student to communicate in mandarin.

In Sensorial Awareness, the children will learn shapes and colors, dimensions, taste and smells.

In Practical Life Activities, the children will experience real life situation and activities promoting gross motor activities, three finger grasp, hand-eye coordination. Promote concentration and instill inner discipline.

Character First have forty nine keys characters qualities are illustrated through story, songs, dramas, art and craft. With all these activities the children learn these characters in a fun way.

Children will be introduced to the Numeral & Quantities system in terms of symbols and quantities using concrete materials, progressing from concrete to abstract.

In Art, Music and Movement the child will be introduced to stories, singing, talks and dialogues. Painting, gluing and cutting activities provides creative fun and help their hand-eye coordination and concentration skills.

Junior Curriculum

Practical Life: the children will experience real life situations and activities, hand eye coordination, promote concentration and instill inner discipline, self-discipline, care of self and of the environment, and mannerisms.

Sensorial: The children will discover color, size, shape, taste, smell, sound, sight, touch, classification. In this area, there is much emphasis on training of the senses, which is an essential tools for later learning processes.

Mandarin Language: Children begin to gain confidence in specking and laying the foundation for recognition of words, using the basic strokes and pin yin with sight objects to learn the sounds of each words. The acquisition of the language is connected to the children's strength of observation and sensorial training.

Mathematics: Children are exposed to the concrete forms of number concepts in terms of symbols and quantities and work at an individual level in preparing for an abstract understanding of much complex mathematics operations.

Culture Activities: The cultural area of the classroom includes science, cultural studies, geography, discovery, classification, awareness of the world us are emphasized.

Art and craft: Daily individual art activities for all levels are important for the development of intellectual, social and spiritual stimulus and growth. There are may opportunities for group activities on a regular basis through making models of objects from actual classroom lessons.

Music and Movement: Group time is a wonderful time for songs, music, movement, and group coordination games. There are also may items in the environment to promote musical appreciation. Drama and Plays are introduced to the children with music and games, this is a fun and relaxing activity and develops large motor skills.
